England Trip - September, 2004
I got to spend about a week and a half with longtime friend, Lorraine Evans and many newfound friends including her boyfriend, Gareth. They live in the small town of Sandgate, which is near the coastal town of Folkestone (southeast England). With the help of Lorraine placing locations with photos... here are some selected images of the trip. Many thanks to both of them for showing me around and putting up with me for 10 days... and for her research that is included on this page. MAP OF AREA: http://www.okweatherwatch.com/route.gif

Eastwell Church - one two three four five - has an interesting history. The church was destroyed by a V2 bomber during WWII. Having lost the Battle of Bosworth Field to the Tudors, the son of Richard III, his father dead, escaped to Kent and worked on the Eastwell estate as a mason and brick builder. He died in 1550 and his tomb lies in the church grounds. The first manor house at Eastwell was quite possibly built by the ‘would be King’, passed down through the Earls of Winchelsea to be altered and rebuilt to the present day luxury hotel of Eastwell Park in Tudor style.
