Texas Panhandle Tornadoes A gallery that is dedicated to our efforts in the backyard/garden. A page dedicated to the Okarche tornado of May 3, 1999.
2010 Perseid Meteor Shower - The Perseids this year were brilliant, due largely to minimal moonlight. We observed 26 meteors between August 3rd and 9th in Oklahoma, and then 300 while on a trip to Arizona and Utah from August 10th to 13th. 222 of those came on the 13th while we were viewing from Natural Bridges, Utah. The image at left (click on to enlarge) was taken on the 10th while in Alpine, Arizona.
July 12, 2010 Summer Lightning - An isolated severe thunderstorm dropped south through Dewey and Custer Counties in western Oklahoma.
July 10-11, 2010 - Vince Miller and I chased a couple of days in western Kansas and western Oklahoma... seeing decent storms both days.
June 6 to 10, 2010 - Five straight days of chasing that covered 2,417 miles across Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado. Nice storms were seen each day of the trip which ended with a couple of tornadoes from one of the best looking supercells I have ever seen near Last Chance, Colorado.
June 26, 2010 Partial Lunar Eclipse - Shots taken from just west of Okarche.
